Experiencing Iran is a cluster program coordinated and facilitated by the Faculty of Social Sciences' Office of International Affairs. It provides international graduate students and young researchers with a chance to gain a deep understanding of the Iranian state and society, media system, current social, cultural, and economic developments, as well as philosophical and sociological thoughts. Participants moreover will receive an enriching fresh overview of urban and rural cultures in Iranian societies, at the same time develop an authentic yet critical knowledge about the status and characteristics of important interdisciplinary fields such as language, race, gender, religion studies, as well as popular culture in Iran—far from the usual stereotypical and orientalist approaches.
